Engine Tidy Up

Old enginebay
The engine was one of the main reasons why this car was up for scrap or restoration. When I first heard of the car I was told the engine 'rocks' and 'clunks' when going into reverse!! Engine rocks does that mean its fast?? NO, It literally rocked on its mounts. In fact the mounts were non existent.....
Engine
Whilst the body was off the frame, I took the opportunity to lift the engine out completely. Not too difficult as all the mounts were broken. The only things keeping the engine in the car were the gear linkage, drive shafts and pipe work, oh and a prayer.
Fuel dist
Once it was all back together and running, I discovered I had a water leak. Not in the best of places either, Under the intake manifold. So in I went. This photo was taken to remind me where the fuel pipes went when it came to re-assembley.
Intake removed
This is a PRV-V6 without it's intake manifold, scary.... You can just see a rusty pipe running up the center of the block between the heads, this was the culprit of the water leak, corroded right through.
Stainless
Just a shot for the sake of it. Lots of shiny bits added to the engine to make it look pretty!!! and more reliable!
Sorted
And finally, the finished article. New Stainless header tank, throttle cover, idle speed motor and water pipes. Not to mention spark plugs, leads, distributor cap and rotor arm. oh and a nice new set of mounts....
